    Investigation of Employee Benefit Plans

This webinar presents what employers can expect when the Department of Labor conducts an investigation of an Employee Benefit Plan. Discussion covers multiple types of benefit plans including defined contribution plans, welfare plans and defined benefit plans.

The session discusses the steps of the investigation, including the request for documents and data, interviews of the employer and service providers, discussion of findings, and compliance or other possible outcomes. Finally, the session discusses DOL's rules for voluntary correction and also enforcement initiatives, including penalties, for those employers that do not comply.
