A Message from the Director

 

I am pleased to welcome you to the official website for the SHRM Alaska State Council.  We certainly hope all SHRM members and guests visiting our site will find it to be both interesting and informative.  We look forward to keeping you “up-to-date” on current announcements and events relevant to the Human Resources Profession in Alaska and on a National level.

 

The mission of the Alaska State Council is to be a strategic partner with individuals, businesses, community organizations, SHRM and NHRMA in order to encourage the advancement and knowledge of dedicated human resources professional by providing communication and professional development resources throughout Alaska.

 

The Alaska State Council is comprised of chapter presidents, district directors and volunteers serving in core leadership areas such as Professional Development, Diversity, Legislative Affairs, Membership, Students, and Workforce Readiness.  Together, we strive to facilitate information sharing; assess needs of members and chapters; coordinate state and national legislative initiatives; provide leadership development; and communicate with SHRM members throughout Alaska who are not affiliated with any specific chapter (at-large members).  Contact information for each of our council members can be found on our web site, as well as, the latest announcements and events, links to Alaska SHRM Chapters, the NHRMA site, and the National SHRM website. 

 

The Alaska State Council has achieved the Superior Honor State Council status for the past several years under our past and current leadership.
