Hear the Whistle Blow: Avoiding Retaliation

We hear it all the time – "You're kidding, right? How's that retaliation?" Well intentioned managers and supervisors are often shocked to learn that their actions set the stage for a retaliation claim to be brought. The fact is that retaliation claims are now the number one claim asserted against employers in the US; and recent decisions by the courts, Congress and the administration are making it even easier for retaliation and whistleblower claims to be brought and won.
With proper training, employers can greatly reduce their risk of exposure to retaliation and whistleblower claims. In this program, we'll examine the latest developments in this expanding area, including what qualifies as "protected activity" and what constitutes an "adverse employment action". We'll also review the steps you can take to minimize the risk of getting sued and to protect the company when a claim is made.
We hope you can join us for this complimentary presentation given by attorneys Doug Parker and Sean Halloran from Littler's Anchorage office.
