    Description:  Cultural differences and similarities exist in any culture, including Alaska Native and non-Native.  Remaining open minded, interested in learning about individual differences and similarities, adapting, implementing and adopting this information into the workplace are paramount to our effectiveness as human resource leaders. 

     
    •    Introduction to the Diversity of Alaska Native Culture (Eleven distinct cultures, speaking eleven different languages and twenty-two different dialects.  Grouped into five geographic/linguistic groups).

    •    Inter-ethnic Communication - How to develop better communication between Natives and non-Natives. (face-to-face communication difference in language, communication style or ways of speaking, approach may lead to misconceptions or misperceptions about Alaska Natives
