How to be a Disability Superhero!
Is your group disability plan just okay or is it a great plan? In this webinar, you will learn how to know the difference. You will learn ways you can use these benefits to stand out in a crowded field of employers trying to attract talent as well as make sure you have all the bases covered. This webinar will review: • What to look for in a group disability plan - What are offsets and how do they affect benefits? - How is income calculated? - Exclusions - Residual disability • How does group disability work with PTO, Workers Comp and FMLA? • How do you make sure you are providing adequate protection for your high wage earners (aka the C Suite team)? • What is Corporate Owned Life and when would you want it? • Retirement Plan Protection • What are the latest trends in the life & disability industry? Presenter: Terry holds a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation from the International Foundation of Employee Benefits and a Group Benefits Disability Specialist Certification from The National Underwriter Company. She recently expanded her license authority to include property and casualty. Terry worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska for 11 years and gained a thorough understanding of the marketing, administration, and underwriting of fully insured health plans. She attended Anchorage Community College and the University of Alaska. Terry is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters and currently serves on the BOT for the Health Underwriters Political Action Committee and regularly meets with members of Congress on issues related to healthcare. She’s a charter member and past president of the Alaska chapter of NAHU. She has served on numerous committees.
