I'm Not Okay: Mental Health Crisis and Interventions

With everything going on in the world, it's easy to become overwhelmed. Our mental health is important, during this presentation we will review some misconceptions about mental health, resources to use when in crisis, and other helpful tips/tools. 

Learning outcomes are as follows:

• The main causes and negative effects of stress at work.
• Strategies for how HR and L&D professionals can stop the stigma around discussing mental health.
• Techniques for managing stress and anxiety.

Speaker Bio: Heidi Frost

Heidi Frost is a consultant for businesses and nonprofits in the areas of inclusion, integration, and diversity. Previously she was the Executive Director of the Statewide Independent Living Council of Alaska (SILC).  In that role, she managed the budget, administration, and programs of the agency.  

After growing up in Alaska, Heidi spent twelve years in the U.S. Air Force. At her last station at Yokota AB, Japan, Heidi was part of the 5^th Air Force Headquarters weather team. In that role, she provided daily briefings to senior leadership and was the typhoon duty noncommissioned officer.

Heidi has three Associate Degrees and a Bachelor of Science. When she isn’t working, Heidi enjoys spending time with her husband, Steve, playing frisbee with her dog, Buddy, and being begged for more food by the cat, Athena. Additionally, she’s lucky enough to have her two sons and daughters-in-law and two grandbabies living nearby.
